Agri Metha Energy - Securing the Saints methanisation unit

Karine & Bertrand Fahy, and Agathe & Arnaud Maury, two farming couples from the Brie region, commissioned the Agri Métha Energy biomethane plant on 13 October 2017, in the commune of Saints.

The objective of this site is to diversify the income of their farms centred on field crops while committing to an environmental approach. In addition, their project was designed to operate mainly on a self-sufficient input basis, using intermediate crops and beet pulp.

The methanisation unit has been feeding 55 tonnes of plants per day to the digesters since the end of 2019.

As the installation is connected to the GRDF network in Coulommiers, the biomethane produced can be distributed to around thirty surrounding municipalities. In summer, it covers 100% of the needs.

The Agri Métha Energy plant used a GELEC generator with a power of 35 kVa to supply the site and subsequently to secure the site.
